For schools

A makerspace without the hardware budget

Parts get lost, LEDs burn out and kits are never quite complete by spring. Simulating first means every student gets a full bench, and the hardware you do buy goes further.

  • Any grade
  • Every student, every period
  • No consumables

Projects to open

Each one runs in your browser in one click, with no account. Ages and times are suggestions.

555 on the bench

A 555 with a scope on it: the instrument most labs share one of.

  • Grades 8 to 12
  • About 45 minutes

Parking sensor

A sensor build students can then make for real with one kit per group.

  • Grades 7 to 12
  • About 45 minutes

Robot car drive

A robot car drive, tested before anyone buys a chassis.

  • Grades 9 to 12
  • About 60 minutes

Simulate first, build second

Students do the trial and error on screen, where a mistake costs nothing. When a design works, a small group builds it for real with a shared kit. That is the plan on our simulate-first page, with a minimal shopping list.

The lab cost calculator puts a full hardware lab and a simulate-first lab side by side, with every assumption editable, ready for a budget request.

What students get that a parts bin cannot give

A bench supply, a function generator, a scope, a multimeter and a logic analyzer on every desk, and more parts than any bin, all of them in stock.

What you need

Nothing but a browser. Mokxi is a web page. The circuit and the code run inside the browser tab, the C++ compiles there too, and nothing is downloaded or installed, so it works on a school Chromebook, a family laptop or a tablet.

Kids’ privacy, plainly

What happens to a child’s information, written from what the code does.

  • Every project here opens and runs with no account, so a child never has to give a name or an email to use it.
  • Saving work needs an account. A child under 13 can have one only with consent: a parent writes to us from their own email address and we confirm it, or a school gives consent for its classes.
  • For a student in a class, no analytics or advertising tag loads on any page, and classmates never see each other’s email addresses.

For your class

Run it as a class

A roster with a join code, starters handed to every student, checks that grade each hand-in, a live wall and the curriculum pack answer keys. Classes come with Pro and the Teacher plan.

Questions

Does this replace hands-on building?

No, and it should not. It moves the trial and error to the screen, so the time with real parts is spent building something that already works.

Will the code work on real boards?

Code for the Uno and the ESP32-C3 peripherals Mokxi models can move to those boards. Test the final build on hardware before relying on it.

What does a class cost?

The simulator is free. The class tools come with Pro and the Teacher plan, a whole school gets a written quote, and the free 30-day class trial covers one class while you decide.

Try it with your class

Open a project with no account, or start the free 30-day class trial: one class of up to forty students, every class tool, no card.
