DevKitC blink
An LED on GPIO 2 of Espressif’s ESP32-DevKitC V4, which has no user LED of its own and covers the breadboard’s whole width. The whole build, an ESP32-DevKitC V4 and 2 more parts, runs here in your browser on the firmware below; open it in the editor to change the wiring or the code and run it again.

The parts retail for about $15.15. On Mokxi they're free.
The code
The firmware exactly as the editor opens it. Change a line there and press Run: it compiles in the browser.
// Blink, on a board with no LED of its own.
//
// The ESP32-DevKitC V4 has one lamp, the power LED, so there is no
// LED_BUILTIN here. Put an LED and a 220 ohm resistor from 2 to GND instead.
// The header is numbered by GPIO, so 2 is GPIO 2.
const int LED = 2;
void setup() {
pinMode(LED, OUTPUT);
}
void loop() {
digitalWrite(LED, HIGH);
delay(500);
digitalWrite(LED, LOW);
delay(500);
}
Parts list
4 parts, plus the jumper wires. They retail for about $15.15; on Mokxi they're free.
- 1 × ESP32-DevKitC V4
- 1 × Full-size breadboard
- 1 × Resistor, 220 Ω
- 1 × LED, red
How it is wired
3 connections, pin by pin, read from the circuit itself. Each line is one set of pins joined together, by a jumper wire or a breadboard strip.
- Ground: ESP32-DevKitC V4 pin GND; LED, red pin C
- ESP32-DevKitC V4 pin 2; Resistor, 220 Ω pin 1
- Resistor, 220 Ω pin 2; LED, red pin A
