Running a circuit, building your own, trying a new board or part, solving a friend's challenge and sharing your work now all earn XP, not just lessons. Three new quests arrive every day, there are badges in bronze, silver and gold with a few hidden ones to discover, and your streak counts any real work on your own calendar day, with streak freezes you earn by leveling up. Your level and XP bar sit in the header, and your progress page shows everything in one place, including an optional weekly league where you appear only as a made-up nickname.
Your account page has an invite link, and the links you already share from the editor carry it too. When a friend signs up with it and saves their first circuit, you both get 7 days of Pro, for up to 5 friends. Invites are by link only: we never ask for anyone's contact details.
Mokxi 1.0 is a free circuit and microcontroller simulator that runs in your browser with nothing to install. It has 25 boards, from the Arduino Uno and Raspberry Pi Pico to STM32 boards and the micro:bit, and your sketch compiles right in the tab, ESP32 and ESP8266 boards included, with more than 160 parts beside them, from logic chips and sensors to robot cars and arms. Analog parts are real device models checked against ngspice, you can run a SPICE deck or export and import one, and a learning path takes you from one NAND gate to a computer you build yourself. Teachers get classes with join codes, assignments and hand-ins, and anyone can share a circuit with a link or remix one somebody else made. See the boards: https://mokxi.com/boards

Run a SPICE deck, in the editor menu, runs a netlist on a SPICE engine: operating point, transient, AC, DC sweeps, transfer function, noise and measurements, with subcircuits, parameters, included files and full transistor, MOSFET and JFET model cards. Every result plots as waveforms or a Bode plot and downloads as CSV. The engine is checked against ngspice on 42 benchmark circuits, from a voltage divider to a buck converter, and each one agrees within a stated tolerance. Live circuits also got faster, and a microcontroller pin now switches at its own chip's threshold when an analog signal crosses it.
The first circuit in the editor now starts blinking on its own, with a small tip on what to change, and a "Run my change" button runs your edit in one press. Share now has a Share with a friend button that opens your phone's share sheet, or copies the link and shows a QR code a friend can scan. Tick "Send as a challenge" and your friend gets the parts with the code hidden, plus a Show solution button. Anyone who opens a shared circuit sees it running and can remix it without an account, and your project shows how many remixes it has.
New parts: the SHT31 temperature and humidity sensor, the SGP30 air quality sensor, the TCS34725 color sensor, the HT16K33 four-digit display, the MAX7219 eight-digit display, the GC9A01 round screen and a 2.13 inch e-paper display. Each works with the Arduino library people already use for it, from Adafruit_SHT31 to LedControl and GxEPD2.
A new learning path starts with one NAND gate and ends with a computer you built yourself. You package every circuit into a chip of your own and build the next one from your chips: logic gates, an adder, an ALU, memory, and Mokxi’s own small CPU, which runs a program you write and prints it on a terminal. Every step is checked on the simulator, and new parts help along the way: a step clock you can pause and click one tick at a time, a program ROM and a terminal. Before, these boards could only run their built-in examples. The first build on one of them downloads its compiler once, and later builds reuse it. We also fixed a timing bug that could make a delay() on these boards end early. See the ESP32 DevKit: https://mokxi.com/boards/esp32-devkit

Sketches copied from tutorials now build the way the Arduino IDE builds them. You can call a function above the place you wrote it, a sketch split across several tabs is joined in the same order the IDE uses, and warnings show in the build panel without stopping the build. Functions with default values written in braces, and functions that share a name with one you declared yourself, now build too.
The ESP32-S3-DevKitC-1 is now a board in the editor, with its on-board RGB LED and a set of example programs. For now it runs the built-in examples; compiling your own sketches for it in the browser is still being built. See the ESP32-S3: https://mokxi.com/boards/esp32-s3

On the ESP32 and ESP8266, Serial.begin(9600) now sends at a true 9600 baud instead of far too fast. We also checked the ESP32, ESP32-C3, ESP32-C6 and ESP8266 against Espressif's own manuals and fixed timer, PWM, ADC and serial details that did not match the real chips.
Edits saved within a minute of each other now fold into one version, so your version history reaches much further back. Before, steady editing started a new version every two minutes, and a free account's 20 versions covered only the last 40 minutes of work.

Every way of signing up or signing in from the editor now keeps the work you did as a guest. The "Save it" link in a lesson used to leave the editor and lose that work. The sign-up form also lists Google and GitHub first.

Mokxi now records the country an account signed up from, and the state for accounts in the US. It never stores your IP address or city. The privacy page, the student privacy notice and our school documents say so. Read the privacy policy: https://mokxi.com/privacy
