If yours isn't here, just write to us. What does the free plan actually include? The whole simulator. Every board, every part, the breadboard, the wires, the serial monitor, the compiler, and as many runs as you like. No time limit, no build minutes, and no account needed to use any of it (that includes PNG and SVG export, which carries a small "made with mokxi.com" badge in the corner on Free; a paid plan is what pays the badge away). Do I need an account at all? No. The editor, the templates, the gallery, the compiler and Run all work signed out, and your work is kept in the browser as you go. An account adds cloud saving, so your projects follow you between machines, and a link you can share. What does Pro add? More room, and the things you want once the work matters. Unlimited saved projects instead of ten, two hundred saves of history per project instead of twenty, priority support, your name on the work you share, live collaboration for up to five people instead of you and one other person, as many classes as you like for up to ten students between them, and badge-free PNG, SVG and embed exports (Free already gets the export itself, just with a small badge in the corner). No part of the simulator is behind Pro, because no part of the simulator is behind anything. I teach one class. Which plan is mine? Teacher: $129 a year, or $14 a month, with forty student seats included. That is you plus forty students, across as many classes as you like, for one flat price. You get everything in Pro, a live room that holds you and your whole class on one project, and your students get Pro’s room while they are in your classes, with no badge on their exports or embeds. We love teachers, and if you are stuck with anything a real person answers. Forty is counted across all your classes, a student in two of them counted once. More than forty students, or several teachers, is Schools & universities: we price it for you. Can I try it with my class before I pay? Yes. Make a free account, open the class page, and press Start 30-day free trial. For thirty days one class of up to forty students gets the Teacher plan’s class tools, and your students get Pro’s room while they are in it. There is no card to enter, and it is once per teacher account. When it ends nothing is deleted: the roster and the submissions stay readable, and the class page shows how to keep it going. Can I try Pro before I pay? Yes. Once per account you can try everything in Pro free for seven days, with no card. You are offered it when you reach a limit of the Free plan, and signed in on Free you can start it from this page. When the trial ends you are back on Free and nothing is deleted: projects past the limit stay open to read. What about more than forty students, or a whole school? That is Schools & universities: more than forty students, several teachers, a school, a district or a university, priced for you. Press Talk to us and a person will walk you through it, or put your number into the calculator on the classroom page for a written quote in minutes (the seats go on the account of the teacher who asks, so each teacher with classes asks for their own), as a PDF, with volume pricing, payable by card or by purchase order and net-30 invoice. Every student gets everything in Teacher, plus the class collaboration with no people limit, and we sign your data privacy agreement and help set up your rosters. What is a seat? One student. Your own place in the class is not charged for, so a class of thirty students is thirty seats and holds thirty-one people. The Teacher plan includes forty of them for one flat price. A seat is not a license for life either: remove a student who has left and the seat is free for the next one. How many API simulation minutes do I get? Running a circuit through the Mokxi API counts its simulated time toward a monthly allowance: 100 minutes a month on Free, 2,000 on Pro and Student, and 2,000 on Teacher and Classroom, shared by the teacher and the students in their paid classes. Schools and universities can have more; talk to us. The count starts over on the first of each month, a run that starts under the limit always finishes, and you are never charged for going over. None of this touches the editor: simulations in your browser are unlimited on every plan. Can I change plan or cancel? Any time, from your account page, without writing to anybody. Manage billing opens Stripe’s own portal, where the card, the invoices, the plan and the cancel button live. A cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and your account page says which day that is. On a school’s plan the number of students changes on the account page itself, and Stripe works out the part of the period. What happens to my projects if I cancel? They stay. Nothing you built is deleted or locked because a subscription ended. If you are over the free plan’s saved-project count, everything stays readable and exportable. You just cannot add another until you are back under it. Do you offer refunds? Yes. If a plan is not what you expected, just write to us within fourteen days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. We would rather give the money back than argue about it. Can I get an invoice or a purchase order? Every card payment produces an invoice you can download from the billing portal. A school that needs a purchase order before it can pay should ask for a quote on the classroom page instead: it comes back at once as a PDF with your PO number on it, your school accepts it online, and it is paid by invoice on net 30 terms. The seats switch on when the invoice is paid. Is there an education or student discount? Students get Pro at half price: $5 a month or $50 a year, verified with a school email address and usually in one press. A teacher gets forty student seats included on the Teacher plan for $129 a year. The free plan is still the whole simulator. If a school cannot make the numbers work, write to us. Are my projects private? Yes. A project is private when it is created and stays that way until you make it public. A private project never shows up in the gallery, has no share link, and is not counted in anybody’s totals. What do you store about me? Your sign-in id (or, for email sign-in, a salted hash of your password), your name, your email address, your avatar, and the projects you choose to save. Analytics stays off until you allow it in the consent bar; then Google Analytics counts page views and the Meta Pixel tells us whether an ad brought you here. The privacy policy at /privacy has the full list. Can I export my work? Yes. Any project saves to a file from the editor and opens again later, on this machine or another one. Your circuits are not stuck inside an account. Does it work offline? The simulation and the compiler run on your machine, so once a tab is open it keeps working without a connection. Loading the page and saving to the cloud both need one. Which boards are supported? Twenty-five, all on the free plan. Arduino: the Uno R3, Uno R4 Minima and Uno R4 WiFi, Nano, Mega 2560, Leonardo, Micro and Pro Mini, and the SparkFun Pro Micro. ESP32: the classic DevKit V1, the ESP32-S3, the ESP32-C3 and C6 DevKits, the ESP32-C3 SuperMini and the Seeed XIAO ESP32-C3. ESP8266: the NodeMCU, the Wemos D1 mini and the ESP-01S. Also the Raspberry Pi Pico and Pico W, the Seeed XIAO SAMD21, the STM32F411 Black Pill and STM32F103 Blue Pill, the BBC micro:bit V2, and the ATtiny85, which goes straight into the breadboard as the bare chip it is. Your own sketch compiles in the browser for all of them. Each board page lists what its model covers and what it does not: the WiFi boards, for instance, have simulated WiFi rather than a modeled radio, and say so. Which parts are there? More than 160, all on the free plan: breadboards and jumper wires, LEDs, resistors, capacitors, buttons and switches, 74HC logic chips and the NE555, sensors, displays from seven segment digits to OLED, TFT and e-paper screens, motors, servos, steppers and robot parts such as a 2WD car chassis, a line tracker and a robot arm, power parts from 18650 cells to a solar panel and regulators, and bench instruments such as an oscilloscope and a multimeter. The Parts page shows every one of them drawn and running. Is my sketch really compiled in the browser? Yes, by a real clang built for the web. The toolchain streams down once and the browser caches it, and after that every build happens on your own machine. There is no build server and no queue, which is why there are no build minutes to run out of. Which browsers work? Any current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a desktop, and the same on a phone or a tablet. It needs WebAssembly, which all of them have had for years. Does it work on a phone? Yes. The editor uses pointer events, targets big enough to hit and a layout that stacks on a narrow screen, and the simulation runs on the phone itself. Is Mokxi open source? Not today. The kernel, the CPU cores, the board models and the runtimes were all written here rather than borrowed, and nobody has decided yet how that source should be licensed. How do I get help? Write to us.
